David Regestam studied design at the University of Gothenburg's School of Design and Crafts, and interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack in Stockholm, graduating in 2007. He now works as an interior architect at Wingårdhs.

For Gärsnäs, Regestam has designed the Tak and Kolonn table series. Tak takes its name from a rooftop restaurant in Stockholm, designed by his own firm, where the tables were first delivered — "tak" means roof in Swedish.

Regestam also designed Gärsnäs's exhibition stand for the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2017.
