Petite Chair

Designed by David Ericsson 2018.

Petite is a contemporary Swedish counterpart to the classical café chair, built on a minimalist construction in beech. Its character comes from close attention to detail — crafted joints at the front and back legs, a slightly conical seat, and a raised, moulded back slat that needs no further support. Simple and stackable, it suits a kitchen table as naturally as a café or restaurant.

David Ericsson was named Designer of the Year by the Form Award, and Petite won Sweden's place in the Nordic Sustainable Chairs design competition.

"I have tried to rationalize away all unnecessary areas to reduce the number of components. It gives the chair a cleaner style, while also making it easier to build and uses resources more efficiently."

Chair in solid beech, with a compression moulded seat and backrest. Seat available in veneer, fabric, or vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö, one of Sweden's oldest tanneries, or Elmo, founded in 1931 in Svenljunga, working exclusively with Scandinavian cowhide. 

Leather swatches and a selection of Kvadrat fabrics available for review in consultation with RÅSTRÖM. 

The Petite Chair is made in natural beech as standard. Other wood finishes available on request.
