Designed by Anton Björsing 2024.

Simris was designed for Vyn — Swedish for "the view" — chef Daniel Berlin's Michelin-starred restaurant in Österlen, in Sweden's southern Skåne province. Development began once work on Vyn's dining chairs was underway, when Berlin asked for a sofa for the restaurant's lounge, where evenings begin before dinner. Björsing built it for stability and weight — closer to a farmhouse sofa than a delicate piece — while keeping it distinctly Gärsnäs.

Fully upholstered two-seat sofa, available in a selection of Kvadrat fabrics or leather from Tärnsjö, one of Sweden's oldest tanneries, or Elmo, founded in 1931 in Svenljunga, working exclusively with Scandinavian cowhide.

Exposed frame in solid oak. Seat frame in solid wood, with Nozag springs. Available with or without a plinth base.

Fabrics and leathers available to review in consultation with RÅSTRÖM.

Gärsnäs

Gärsnäs was founded in 1893 in the village of Gärsnäs, in the Österlen region of Skåne, southern Sweden.

A Gärsnäs piece is built on the idea that every part must earn its place. The result is furniture shaped as much by its surroundings as by its own design — made to be used, and made to last for generations.
