Inquire About This Piece

Designed by Anton Björsing 2024.

Vyn — Swedish for "the view" — was designed for chef Daniel Berlin's Michelin-starred restaurant of the same name in Österlen, Skåne. The chair needed to welcome guests for hours at a stretch.

"Some guests can sit for five hours," Björsing has said. He and the Gärsnäs craftsmen worked closely on the back and seat to balance comfort with a light, adaptable form, suited to a range of bodies.

The Vyn Armchair is made of solid oak. Seat in veneer, or upholstered in vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö, one of Sweden's oldest tanneries, or in leather from Elmo, founded in 1931 in Svenljunga, working exclusively with Scandinavian cowhide — with supportive webbing beneath the upholstered seat options.

Backrest in molded veneer, or with a removable cover in leather or fabric — either covering the backplate, or fully wrapping the backrest.

A selection of Kvadrat fabrics is available on request.

Gärsnäs

Gärsnäs was founded in 1893 in the village of Gärsnäs, in the Österlen region of Skåne, southern Sweden.

A Gärsnäs piece is built on the idea that every part must earn its place. The result is furniture shaped as much by its surroundings as by its own design — made to be used, and made to last for generations.
