Vyn — Swedish for "the view" — was designed for chef Daniel Berlin's Michelin-starred restaurant of the same name in Österlen, Skåne. The chair needed to welcome guests for hours at a stretch.
"Some guests can sit for five hours," Björsing has said. He and the Gärsnäs craftsmen worked closely on the back and seat to balance comfort with a light, adaptable form, suited to a range of bodies.
The Vyn Chair is made of solid oak. Seat in veneer, or upholstered in vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö, one of Sweden's oldest tanneries, or in leather from Elmo, founded in 1931 in Svenljunga, working exclusively with Scandinavian cowhide — with supporting fabric for the upholstered seat options.
Backrest in molded veneer, or with a removable cover in leather or fabric covering the backplate.
A selection of Kvadrat fabrics is available on request.
